The Tver State Technical University (TSTU) was founded in 1922. It is a
large educational, scientific and industrial complex of the Ministry of
Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Now Tver Tech is a dynamically evolving University with a number of
modern specialities, very popular among younger generation.
The University is a member of the Technical Universities Associations
and Engineering Educational Associations of Russian Federation.
Besides, Tver Tech is a founder of Russian Preparatory Faculties
Assotiations for Foreign Students and Overseas Students Association
in Russia.

There are eight Departments at the University.
The are: Machine Building, Civil & Industrial Engeering,
Automation Systems of Control, Usage of Natural Resources
and Engineering Ecology, Humanities, Foreign Citizens Department,
Evening & Correspondence Department, and Postgraduate Training
Department for improving professional skills of the specialist.
There are alsso tutorial centers, post-graduated courses,
a scientific research institution, information and computer center,
experiment production, academy library, and administration of the University.

There are approxomately 3600 full-time students and about 1300 students
taking evening and correspondence courses at the Tver Tech.
Educational process and scientific work are provided by experienced
specialists: more 60 professors and doctors and 300 assistant professors,
more that 500 highly educated and trained teachers. There are 30
members of Science Communities and Associate Members,
14 Honored Scientist and Honored Inventors of the Russian Federation
at the University.

The University is situated in seven large buildings.
It has 4 dormitories with all necessary facilities, and
Educational and Scientific Laboratories equipped with Computers
for 12 Class-rooms. A gymnasium is available to undertake exercises.
Sport facilities with cross country skiing are also available.
